It is not always easy to find the right place to deposit waste for
recycling. In the large cities, bins are being placed in strategic
positions, but this is a slow process.
There are a number of scrap merchants in various parts of the country
who will take some waste of specific kinds, but they are difficult to
find, especially if your waste is somewhat out of the ordinary. The
largest of these is the Minas Group in Strovolos. These people will take
paper, cardboard, plastics (including PET), glass, aluminium and
electrical/electronic items. They have bins outside their gates for the
public to deposit these items. They can be found south of the Orphanides
hypermarket.
