My name is Brian Ellis and I've been active in environmental and energy matters for decades, professionally until I retired here to Cyprus in 1997. Having lived here for years in the 1950s, I can remember how things were and see how they have changed since, often not for the better. It was essentially a rural economy then and farmers had no leisure time to do things that damaged the environment.

 I developed these websites over the years and the Cyprus E&E one did have a brief page on wildlife. I deemed this inadequate and recently deecided that it should be a full website. Now, as an environmental engineer, I cannot be an expert on all subjects re fish, fowl, flesh, flora and fauna; in fact, my knowledge is superficial.

As a result, I'm trying to build up a team of experts to help develop this site, each able to contribute to their speciality. It is not necessarily easy to find these and I would welcome more offers to help out. As it is, I sincerely thank our team of volunteers for their ever-welcome help.
